  Ben Cotlar, CPA

  Managing Partner

  Ben Cotlar is a Houston native and a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas. He attended the University of Houston and began his career in public accounting in 2012 at a mid-size local CPA firm, rotating between the tax and audit departments for a few years before developing his niche in attestation. Ben brings 15 years of experience in accounting, including time in industry as a controller, giving him perspective from both public accounting and in-house finance.

  Ben enjoys building tailored solutions that add real value for small businesses without an established accounting department. He has a particular skill for guiding accounting and benefits teams through the complexities of initial audits, reviews, and 401(k) audits, with industry experience spanning distribution, retail, construction, real estate, logistics, and services.

  Outside the office, Ben is commissioner of his synagogue’s softball league and plays tennis and pickleball daily.

  Miriam Cotlar

  Tax Manager

  Miriam Cotlar was born in Chicago and moved to Houston in 2011, where she graduated from the University of Houston. She began her career in 2015 at a local firm with a focus in tax and bookkeeping, and now brings more than 10 years of experience to her clients.

  Miriam is known for her warmth and personable approach with clients. Her focus is small businesses, especially those looking to upgrade their bookkeeping and tax work to a more professional environment.

  Outside the office, Miriam spends her free time raising six children and five chickens — and still finds time for gardening and being outdoors.

  Samuel Mytelka, CPA

  Tax Director

  Sam is a well-versed CPA in all types of tax accounting. Sam specializes in providing a clear financial picture for his clients, tax planning as well as strategic business solutions for a wide variety of businesses and industries. His enjoyment for working with complex clients to provide solutions have led him to focus most of his career on the industries of real estate, oil & gas and e-commerce. Sam is a licensed Certified Public Accountant by the State of Texas, and has recently taken his knowledge of accounting and business to start several successful businesses in diverse industries. Sam enjoys skiing and hiking the largest mountains he can find on his free time.
